"Widget" is a wonderful little horse that's an absolute pleasure. He's exceptionally smart and well mannered, and has never been anything but a gentleman with little to no correction. He loves to work cows but has also excelled in all of the different ranch versatility events with a great stop and a completely natural lead change. Unfortunalety, in late 2020 he became very sick which included a high fever that would not break and he suffered a rotation in both front feet; while he is almost completely sound today he is no longer riding or showing in order to keep him as comfortable as possible.
His foals have been much the same as their sire, incredibly easy going and friendly to be around and many have that same natural lead change and lope as smooth as driving a cadillac like their sire; they are living in both family and working homes, as well as training/showing in a wide variety of events such as ranch versatility, reined cow horse, roping, mounted shooting, etc! All the foals we have raised and started under saddle so far have been very easy to start and quick to learn, even with minimal work. Every now and then he'll throw a foal that is a little aloof as a weanling but every single one has become super friendly by their yearling spring, even if you just leave them be out in the pasture. His foals are tending to be in the 14.2-15hh range, though the mares he has been bred to have all stood in the same range. He works best on well bodied mares, but will put phenomenally good feet on any mare.
